For any Bollywood star, it is a great honour when they are ranked among the most powerful women in the country. It comes as validation of their work. Speaking of this, Fortune India’s list of most powerful women in 2019 is out and from Bollywood, it featured only one actress and it is none other than Anushka Sharma. Anushka became the only Bollywood actress to join the list of the most powerful women’s list of Fortune India. Not just this, the Pari actress is also the youngest women on the list.
As per the description, Anushka was featured among the list of powerful women as her production house, Clean Slate Films managed to rake in Rs 40 Crore at the box office with films like NH 10, Pari, Phillauri and many other web series and shows which are in the works. Sharma ranked number 39 on the list and was just behind TV and Film producer Ekta Kapoor. Anushka’s brand value, as well as her production venture success, made her a part of the Fortune India’s list of most powerful women 2019.
The basis of selection of women in the list is simple. It featured women who are making an impact by virtue of their business acumen and social and cultural influence. For Anushka, 2018 brought a variety of films from different genres including Pari, Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and Zero. From the past few months, Anushka has been travelling with her hubby Virat Kohli on Cricket tours and has been working on production of shows for digital platforms. Reportedly, Anushka was also approached for the remake of Satte Pe Satta. However, nothing has been confirmed till now.
