Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that our intention is to eradicate illegal migrants not only from Assam but from all over the country. Shah told BJP’s Northeast coalition partners that no intruder would be allowed to stay in Assam. Shah said in the meeting of Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) that Congress has made the Northeast the rest of the country was isolated from the parts. He said that the Congress followed the policy of divide and rule in the Northeast.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Konrad Sangma told Amit Shah that there are doubts about the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Northeast and urged him to take all the states in the region into confidence before bringing the bill back. Northeast Addressing the fourth conference of the Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Sangma asked whether the Center would bypass the discussions with the states before bringing the Bill back. He said please call us and look at the interests of the people of the Northeast. Please remove our doubts. I am confident that you (Shah) will clear our doubts.
