Days after the controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik was banned from making public speeches in Malaysia, Home Minister Tan Sri Muheedin Yasin said on Monday that no one is above the law of the country.Muheedin said, ‘We are aware of Zakir’s statements, which causes inconvenience, so it is important to ensure justice. no one is above the law.’
Naik, who is wanted in India, was granted permanent residence in Malaysia by the previous government. He has been living in the country for the last three years.The Malaysian government has banned the speeches of controversial preacher Zakir Naik for making inflammatory statements. He is not allowed to make any kind of speech.
Recently Zakir Naik had said that Hindus living in Malaysia are more loyal to Narendra Modi than Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad. After which Malaysia’s HR Minister M Kulasegaran said that Zakir Naik, who questioned the Hindus, should be acted upon immediately.
M Kulasegaran had said that Zakir Naik is an outsider who is a fugitive and has little knowledge of Malaysian history, so he should not be given the privilege of degrading Malaysians.
He said that this statement of Zakir Naik does not meet the scale of being a permanent resident of Malaysia.Zakir Naik has been in the news earlier for his controversial statements.
