Nadiad: Three-storey building collapsed in Nadiad, Gujarat late Friday due to heavy rains. 4 people died in this accident. 9 people trapped and have been rescued and admitted to a local hospital. Rescue operations are going on at the scene. It is feared that some more people may be trapped under the debris and efforts are on to evacuate them. Rain is continuously falling in Ahmedabad and Rajkot since night.
In Godhra, the railway platform has become watery due to rain. The two-story building in Nadiad collapsed after heavy rains late on Friday night. After this, people immediately informed the police. Police and relief teams arrived on the spot after getting the information, and took 9 people out of the building debris alive. However, 4 people lost their lives.
It is being told that due to heavy rains in the area from noon to late night, the area became watery. After which the house collapsed due to water reaching the foundation of the Building. Rains continue in Gujarat. Sardar Sarovar Dam overflowed in Nawagam, Gujarat after which 7 gates of the dam were opened. 6 lakh cusecs of water has been released from Sardar Sarovar Dam. An alert has been issued to villages in Narmada, Bharuch and Vadodara districts.
