Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl first look: Janhvi Kapoor is ready to fly high.

Mumbai:It was in 2018 that Janhvi Kapoor started prepping for Gunjan Saxena biopic. And now months later, the makers have finally unveiled the first-look poster of the much-talked-about film Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl. Karan Johar, who is producing the film, took to social media to share the poster.He wrote, “She was told ladkiyan pilot nahin banti, but she stood her ground & wanted to fly! Gunjan Saxena -TheKargil Girl releasing on 13th March, 2020.”

In the poster, Janhvi Kapoor can be seen holding a paper airplane in her hand.For Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl, Janhvi Kapoor has stepped into the shoes of IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena.Gunjan Saxena made history when she flew into a combat zone during the Kargil War and evacuated injured soldiers from Kargil in 1999. Despite facing the fire, Gunjan and lieutenant Srividya Rajan, managed to bring the soldiers home. For her courage, Gunjan was bestowed with Shaurya Chakra.

Sharing another poster of Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl, Karan wrote, “With unabashed courage & bravery, she made her domain in a man’s world. Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, releasing on 13th March, 2020.”
Janhvi, who made her Bollywood debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, has been shooting for the film for a long time. It is for the first time will be seen in a biopic.

Wearing her pilot cap, Janhvi is seen giving her on-screen father Pankaj Tripathi a hug in the third poster of Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl. In a moustache and black suit, a smiling Tripathi too is a sheer delight to watch. The movie hints that it was Saxena’s father who aspired for her to become a pilot.

Apart from Janhvi, the film also stars Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi. Angad Bedi, who essays the role of Janhvi’s on-screen brother in the film, had earlier called the actress “extremely hardworking and talented. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film is set to hit the screens.

The caption of this poster thus reads, ‘Meri Beti Ki Udaan Koi Nahi Rok Sakta’. Sharing the poster on Instagram, Karan Johar wrote, “Her pillar of strength – her father. He gave her the wings to fly! Gunjan Saxena.

Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Dharma Productions in association with Zee Studios, Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar and Manav Vij in pivotal roles.
The film is set to hit the screens.
