Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz vice-president Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been detained by the National Accountability Bureau i.e. Maryam has been detained in the Chaudhary Sugar Mill case.
Maryam was detained when she went to meet former Prime Minister and her father Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat Jail. At 3 PM in the evening, NAB asked Maryam to appear.
Maryam was given a questionnaire and these questions are related to the Chaudhary Sugar Mill. All these questions had to be answered by Maryam by 3 o’clock on Thursday. According to Pakistani media reports, Maryam has been taken to NAB headquarters.
NAB had already issued a warrant for not presenting. Earlier on 31 July, Maryam appeared in NAB and recorded her statement. This statement was about a suspicious business transaction at the Chaudhary Sugar Mill. Maryam holds the maximum shares in the Chaudhary Sugar Mill.
