The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) forcibly retires 22 senior officers.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has forcibly retired 22 more senior officials due to corruption and other charges. According to reports, these officers have been retired under the fundamental rule 56 (j) in public interest. These officers are of superintendent and AO rank. Earlier 27 officers have been forcibly retired.
Officers retired were attached to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Meerut and Chennai tax units.The 22 officers who have been forcibly retired include KK Ukai, SR Parate, Kailash Verma, KC Mandal, MS Damore, RS Gogia, Kishore Patel, JC Solanki, SK Mandal, Govind Ram Malviya, AU Chhapargare, S Ashokaraj, Deepak M Ganayan, Pramod Kumar, Mukesh Jain, Navneet Goyal, Achintya Kumar Pramanik, VK Singh, DR Chaturvedi, D Ashok, Leela Mohan Singh and VP Singh.
It is to be noted that earlier on June 10, the Finance Ministry had forcibly retired 27 Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers in the same manner, out of which 12 officers belonged only to Income Tax Department. These officers included the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Department as well as officers posted in positions like Principal Commissioner.
