New Delhi: According to the latest IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List, the number of people with assets of more than Rs 1,000 crore in India has increased to 953 in 2019 from 831 in 2018. At the same time, the number of billionaires in dollars has come down from 141 to 138. According to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2019, the combined wealth of the top 25 people is equal to 10 percent of India’s GDP.

According to the latest list, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, topped the list of rich Indians for the eighth consecutive year. Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian with a net worth of Rs 3,80,700 crore. London-based SP Hinduja and family, with assets of Rs 1,86,500 crore, stand second in the list. Wipro founder Azim Premji is the third richest Indian with assets of Rs 1,17,100 crore.

Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal, is fourth in the list with assets of Rs 1,07,300 crore. Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, is at the fifth position with assets of Rs 94,500 crore. Uday Kotak is at sixth position in the top-10 list, with total assets of Rs 94,100 crore.

Cyrus S Poonawala with assets worth Rs 88,800 crore and Cyrus Pallonji Mistri with assets worth Rs 76,800 crore are at eighth position. Shapoor Pallonji with assets worth Rs 76,800 crore and Dilip Shanghvi with assets worth Rs 71,500 crore are at the tenth position.

The richest people live in Mumbai

In this year’s list, there are 344 people whose property has declined. At the same time, there were 112 people who did not touch the limit of Rs 1,000 crore required to join this list. The most wealthy Indians live in Mumbai, the number of billionaires living here is 246. It is followed by Delhi, which has 175 billionaires. There are 77 billionaires living in Bengaluru.

Ritesh Aggarwal is the youngest billionaire

Ritesh Aggarwal, 25, of Oyo Rooms, with a net worth of Rs 7,500 crore, is the youngest self-made entrepreneur. Divya Turkhiya of Media Dot Net leads the list of the richest Indians under 40 years of age.

Roshni is the richest woman

This list includes 152 women, whose average age is 56 years. Roshni Nadar of HCL Technologies 37) is the richest woman. Smita V Krishna of Godrej Group is second in this list with assets of Rs 31,400 crore. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, chairperson of Baycon, is the richest self-made woman with assets of Rs 18,500 crore.
