Dharamshala: Additional District Magistrate Mast Ram Bhardwaj said that on the occasion of Independence Day, on August 15, the district level function will be celebrated with full fervor at the police ground in Dharamshala. Parade and cultural programs will be the main attractions of the ceremony. He was speaking here today presiding over the meeting organized with the concerned departments for the successful organization of the Independence Day celebrations.
He said that in the event of bad weather, the event will be held in two phases, in which the hoisting of the hoop and parade will be organized in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, while the other programs will be held in the district council hall.
He gave necessary guidelines to the officials of the departments concerned for the successful organization of the function. Bhardwaj said that on 15 August, the Chief Minister would garland the martyr’s memorial at 10.30 am followed by flag hoisting and parade inspection and march past salutes at the police ground at 10.55 am. He said that the program will be presented by various cultural parties in this ceremony.
Children of NCC, NSS from various educational institutions will also participate in the parade along with contingents of police and home guards. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Madan, ASP Dinesh Kumar, officers of various departments and representatives of educational institutions were present.
